Heavy Rain Leads to Soaked Carpets

A local homeowner suffered from extremely wet carpets after heavy rained ripped through northwest Iowa in early September.

Our team extracted the standing water but was forced to tear up the padding in much of the basement.  The homeowners opted to use pet pad in their basement, which is the plastic layer on top of the pad which will lay between the pad and carpet, to fight against any pet stains and to prolong the life of their carpet, the difficult part of having that style of pad is that water cannot be extracted without tearing up the carpet and extracting from the bottom of the pad.  Often times this method only causes more damage to the pad which means it will removed all together.
